Guinness verification of Degree Certificate (optional)

WES also require a color copy of your degree certificate send by you apart from transcript from University. However, recently WES has started asking for re-verification of Degree Certificate send by the candidate due to increased fraud. In order to complete the re-verification, University will ask to apply for “Guinness verification of Degree Certificate”. To reduce the chance of WES asking for re-verification and save time later, you can apply for Guinness verification of Degree Certificate along with the transcript and same send to WES instead of you sending the copy of the certificate.

I have completed Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 84-87 batch and completed Masters’s in Physics in the 87-89 batch. I am currently living abroad and applied for a job and they are validating my certificates including the transcripts. As we all aware this is a standard procedure these days. I found that some of the transcripts were missing and I have applied online for transcripts of my Bachelor’s degree on 19-06-2021. I received my payment confirmation email. However, there is no response after that. I have posted a query in this forum a few days ago and I received a confirmation that the numbers given below can be used to speak to the relevant department.
    Phone: (91) 481-273 3319, (91) 481-273 3318, (91) 481-273 3323
However, none of these above numbers are functional and there is no way I or my employer can reach these departments. Additionally, there is no way I can visit the university “In-person” since I live abroad and I don’t have anyone who lives in Kottayam who can visit the university.
Please advise since my job is on the line.

    • Due to lockdown restrictions University is working with 50% staff and there is a huge backlog to process. Standard processing time is 4 weeks and will take more due covid restrictions. Since you applied only on 19th, it will take some time for you to get response from University. There is no way to fastrack this process.

You can try raise a complaint by following process in below article.

Much appreciated your response. As I mentioned, none of these phone numbers (91) 481-273 3319, (91) 481-273 3318, (91) 481-273 3323) seem to be active. I would appreciate it if you could provide a valid phone number so that I can provide to my employer and they can validate the credentials.
Last but not least, thanks for the links for the escalation route which I might use if none of these works!

        • Those all are valid numbers, but University is working with limited staff hence, no one is answering it. Also, they can’t validate your degree over the phone. Its a lengthy process to find your physical record from archive which is still not digitalized. Then, the transcript need to be prepared on computer and signed by the registrar of examinations. So it will take time and given the situation it can be delayed further.

I, myself tried the number 0481-2733323 (with country code off course) from outside India and three of my friends tried within India and we all get the same response. The phone is not at all ringing and it says “THIS NUMBER IS FAULTY”. If the line is active (as you said) at least I should be hearing the ring tone.
            Please advise.

I have studied at MG university between 1982 – 1989 and currently employed outside India. I have applied transcripts from my Bachelor’s degree on 19-06-2021. I received my payment confirmation email. However, there is no response after that and I am not sure whether anyone is working on this or any approximate completion date.
    Please advise,

          • Yes those are the numbers you can try to reach the department processing your application. If it is urgent I would suggest you to visit the university and raise the issue directly with them.

  • I have done BBA (1996-99)and MBA(1999-2001) from M G University. Now I assigned mail transcripts to send both educational credentials to IQAS.But in MG university have not provided any consolidated marklist for BBA in 1999.Thee total marks obtained in all semesters together is mentioned in the 6th semestermarklist. But the mail transcripts is not accepting the same and informed that the consolidated marksheet contains all semester subject name and marks obtained and to be obtained the consolidated marksheet by following up with MG university as it is a mandatory document to issue the transcript. Kindly guide me how I will get my consolidated marklist for BBA

    Reply
    • 6th sem mark list is the consolidated as far I have seen. This has been the case for Btech, BCA and other courses. Not sure why University is asking for another consolidated mark list.
