MG University WES secondary re verification process
Based on the feedback we had on our last article How To Apply For Transcript From Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University, Kerala, we are detailing the process of WES asking for re-verification once you submit the transcript.
Why WES asking for secondary verification?
Below is the screenshot of an email from WES received by many applicants after submitting the transcript to WES.
As you can see, WES states “increase of fraud” as the primary reason for re-verification. WES directly contacts the university to evaluate authenticity of the documents submitted by both emails and by post.
MG University Process for re-verification
MG University will send below email to candidates for payment of reverification fee of $50 each for transcript/degree certificate. If WES ask the university for both transcript and Degree Certificate fee it will be $100. Else it will be $50 for just the transcript. This will be mentioned in the email from university.
How to complete the re-verification process?
- WES will let you know by email when it has asked the university for secondary verification.
- MG University will receive the request both electronically(email) and via post.
- MG University contacts you via email within two weeks and asks to pay the re-verification fee.
- Visit the online payment portal and pay US $50 or $100 ( This will be the amount mentioned by the university in the email) https://epay.mgu.ac.in/Candfee/feeoptions/1056
6. Sent the payment receipt to the email mentioned by the university in the memo.
How long does it take to complete the whole process?
WES typically asks for secondary verification within 2 weeks of getting a transcript from MG University. University should contact you in another two weeks time for the payment. Once you made the payment, it takes about 3 weeks for the university to respond to WES and another week for WES to process. So in total, it can take about 6-8 weeks to process your WES evaluation.
Example timeline:-
11-Dec – WES asks university for re-verification
24-Dec – MG University sends the email for payment (within 2 weeks)
25-Dec- Online payment made and receipt submitted
15-Jan – MG university respond to WES email request (within 2-3 weeks)
22-Jan – WES process your evaluation report (within 1 week)
Do I need to visit the university for completing re-verification?
Not required as the university only need the fee to be paid online and receipt sent to them via email. Also, University will be responding to WES via email and no physical documents are prepared or send. This is a verification process between the university and WES. We only need to pay the re-verification fee online.

What i understand about the re-verification scene is that, on enquiry MG will ask to pay 50$ each for transcript and Degree certificate (so total of 100$), but the mail from MG asks for 50$ and all we need is to pay $50..right.. Thanks
You only need to pay $50 for both transcript and degree certificate. It is $50 per course.
WHAT IS THE EMAIL FOR SENDING THE PAYMENT REFERENCE?
It is different for each department. Wait for their email.
I had to pay $150 for Degree, Mark lists and Transcript – and for three courses, I had to pay $450. Paid the fee in the first week of February and the University kept it u touched till my friend went directly to inquire. Now, they have sent emails for 2 degrees and yet to send one.
I have been waiting till last September!
It is only $50 per course. I am not sure why you paid $450.
I had to pay 450 in total. The people in the section were not aware of the total fee and they just told I had to pay 450. I was forced to.
I was forced to pay $450 for Degree, PG and B Ed as the people in the counter had different opinions. I pad $150 online for one course as I received the following mail from the University regarding MA in February.
With regard to your application of Official Transcript and Attestation of M A **** degree Marklists, genuineness verification of MA **** Degree certificate and Official Transcript of M A **** markslists, I hereby inform you that WES has forwarded the documents submitted by the university for reverification. For further processing of the documents you are requested to make online payment of 150 USD in the M G University e-payment portal and submit the Fee receipt.

They didn’t send a mail for the other Degrees, but when my friend went to the Uty counters, they told I was supposed to pay the fee. Someone in the counters said I had to pay $50 for each paper in the package from WES! Somehow, my friend managed to make it 450. He had to go a few times to push the people send mail to WES.
I will tell you the problem, there is no clear instruction as to how much should we pay for WES re-verification. And the people in the counters Do Not Care about the students at ALL!

Question is related to WES
During online application request for issuing Official Transcripts of my B.Com degree to WES, I had paid Rs 4465 and for Genuineness Verification of each copy of my B.Com, I had paid rupees 2785
to M.G University.
Total I paid Rs 7250
Now do I need to pay extra 50 $ to M.G . University for re- verification of the same documents ? Why ?
When I have already made the payment for all these documents, why are they demanding more money from s candidate ?
That’s too much.

First of all, you only need to pay for Official Transcripts. The others are not required.
If WES asks for re-verification, then yes you need to pay $50 to the university to process it. University staff need to work on the documents requested by WES and send it after getting seal and signature from the register and exam controller. University is charing for their time and effort involved in this.
Have u done this through online process..Did the university people asked you to do Genuiness verification of Degree certificate and mark sheets for WES….???When we approached them ,they told transcript would be enough ..
Mkerala, are u sure abt this, cos they asked me to pay $200 for ug and pg degree certificates and OTs. And when i paid them they are saying only OTs can be verified cos i did not apply for verification of degree certificates…do i have to now apply and pay for degree certificates verification again?? I read a post by Anand Madathil that only OTs need to be verified even if WES asks for Degree certificates also….pls help on this matter….i have already paid extra $100 to mgu…i do not want to waste any more money if there is no need be….thanks mkerala for this amazing blog…..this is indeed a great service u r doing…..God bless you
The problem is WES is asking for re-verification of all documents. However, University has issued only your official transcript. Hence, they are asking to apply for genuineness verification if it need to be re-verified. Check with University and complete as per their direction.
Hii, I din receive any e-mail from the university. So If I pay money,Then to which e-mail address do I need to send the receipt copy?

I have received the email from WES on Feb 1st, but i havent received any email from university yet.. How can i know if the university has my correct email id?

Did you get a mail from university?
No so i went to the university directly and made payment as they said and submitted receipt to them.
I am really concerned.
As per my agency WES has contacted university since October but I am yet to receive any email from university.
Is there any id through which I can enquire about this.
Since it is been more than 4 months I am really concerned.
I have tried to contact via phone but it never got through.Since I am abroad these are my only options.

Now everything is online so you can complete your process without travelling to university.
As per reference, a candidate has to remit $ 50(fifty U. S dollars) each for sending re-verified Official Transcript/Marklists/Degree Certificate, per course, to WES.
Hence you are directed to remit $ 100 (Hundred US dollars) through e-payment mode and send the soft copy of the receipt to the email ID of the section given below immediately. Your reverification statement will only be sent to WES after receipt of the e-payment receipt for the above said amount.

is this email from the MG university? How long did they take to send this email after u received email from WES? also what is the email id we need to send the payment receipt to? we received email from WES 3 weeks back and still no response from the university
